Differences and sameness

There is one glory of the sun, another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differs from another star in glory.  1 Corinthians 15:41

I love the differences I see in life.

There are different cultures. There are different plants, different animals, and so forth. In the animal kingdom, there are mammals, birds, reptiles, rodents and the list goes on. But if you take just one area of say mammals, and think of the many different species under that huge umbrella; the many different species of cats, even the different house cats! Or let’s look at dogs—German shepherds, beagles, rottweilers, Chihuahuas, Boston terriers, and again the list goes on and on. So many differences under the broad heading of dogs.

There are different kinds of flowers. And again, look at the different species—roses, tulips, amaryllis, forsythia, and lilies. So if we take lilies, we see many different varieties of them also, each with its own kind of beauty. ************How blessed we are there are so many individual kinds of beauty within the one huge arena of lilies, and then under the individual varieties.              So many varieties and differences under the same umbrella heading of flowers…dogs and so forth. And yet each unique, and beautiful, within the same kind.

I enjoy seeing the differences in so many areas, the uniqueness of a species, a culture, and flowers. How impressive it is that there are so many and each unique. There is so much that is special to experience, see, hear, taste, feel, smell we sometimes miss. Sometimes folks forget to take a breath, pause, and look around. While you’re looking, let a breath out, take a deep breath in, pause, then slowly let out, and bring in the sights, smells, and sounds of God’s presence which is everywhere, all the time.  Bask in His care and love.

Around us are many blessings if we pause and acknowledge them. As a culture, we tend to let impatience, anxiety, worry, and other negative things interrupt our appreciation of the many blessings. I believe we do ourselves a disservice not taking the time to appreciate the loveliness around. We should be more appreciative, to just say a thankful prayer, an acknowledgment of seeing some of the beauty He created.  It takes a moment, one deep breath in and out, while your mind acknowledges a blessing.

We are each different. Unique. We make look similar and at times act similar, but we are each a special creation under the same umbrella–whether it be a part of the same culture, the same set of friends and those who share a common hobby, or the same workforce. We each have different yet sometimes the same ideas or beliefs. How gorgeous and special that is to SEE and experience those differences. Special and beautiful things in nature, and throughout the world. Stop and appreciate. Don’t miss a blessing because you forget to pause and see.

Enjoy your blessings. I have many I enjoy at mybellaviews!
