Thankful
Ezra 3:11 With praise and thanksgiving they sang to the Lord
Psalm 9:1 I will give thanks to You, Lord with all my heart.
1 Chronicles 16:34 Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.
1Thessalonians 5:16-18 Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you.in Christ Jesus.
I am so abundantly blessed. Not that I have a lot of wealth, but I have good health, have my senses, and appreciate all of them.
My eyes see and enjoy God’s glory—carousing of deer, hummingbirds zipping around my feeders, all the other birds flitting about; dolphins fishing and occasionally leaping out of the water, the rare sighting of a whale going by. And we advance to hearing, and listening to the lovely chirping songs as the birds sing and give praise to their Creator.
Of course, there are smells—roasting meat, baked products, roses and other flowers, and even a dirty diaper. But it’s life and our Creator has given us so much. Then we move on to the sense of taste. Hmm, I appreciate yummy food. Appreciate it way too much. There are certainly not many foods I don’t like be it salty, sweet, vegetables, meat, and pizza, fresh European breads, and so much more.
With all these senses I’m reminded how God has richly blessed my life; colors, nature, and more importantly wonderful friends and family. My life is rich.
It is so abundantly awesome to me thinking of all the blessings around me, and throughout my life. I could never record all of them, but there are many, and it is so easy for me to see and be thankful for them now.
So if even the birds can sing happily to Him, how much more should we? Sit back and take in God’s bounty with appreciation. He loves hearing your praise.
